The LCCL is off and running...
We have now completed 4 summer sessions! The latest included 26 players of all skill levels in a shady backyard eating delicious HomeState tacos and drinking two pony kegs of beer. If you would like to get a sense of what a session is like, jump right in! We will be planning for 1 session every 5-6 weeks. Sessions can be small or large and we are constantly trying to improve the experience.
I am aiming for a 50/50 split between socialization and competitive play so we can all enjoy a little of both. If it is too social, games and brackets don't get played efficiently. If it is too competitive, less experienced players don't join and you don't get to meet and socialize with other players. So far we have managed a good blend. If you have ideas to make either one better, let me know!
Here is a brief log of this summer's events:
6/22/21: @ Christensen: 8 players (2 boards) Small but fitting start at casa Christensen.
7/18/21: @ Gordon: 10 players (2 boards) New players and interest is growing.
8/14/21: @ Saenz: 14 players (2 boards) Some old faces attend. Momentum is evident.
9/12/21: @ Artura: 26 players (5 boards) Feels like a true tournament. Excitement builds.
We are looking at mid to late October for the next event. Get in early if you are interested as this may fill up. We are setting a soft cap of 30 players.
[EDIT/UPDATE]
10/17/21: @ Artura: 20 players (5 boards) Football games and music provide by John Clark.
12/12/21: @ Artura: 25 players (5 boards) A good turnout for the holiday season.
Until the next frame...
Clay
