2023 PCY Dads Tournament Date is Set!

After a year away, I am back to run the tournament. A big thanks to Jeremy & Chris for running last year's tournament and successfully adding many improvements. But as their kids have graduated out of elementary school, I felt it was my duty to take the weight off their shoulders. I will still be leaning hard on them and others to help get everything together this year. So if you are interested in helping out, please let me know! (NOTE: I'm still hoping to find someone to take it over in the coming years. I'm looking at you Dads with kids still at PCY!)

Some things to get excited about:

  • Entry fee includes raffle tickets for a chance to win a nice set of bags and other goodies
  • Location will be at a private residence again so we can go later, be louder and party harder! 
  • Jerry will be cooking his delicious meats and KYA chili again!
  • The quality of boards and bags has come a long way since that first tournament. So you won't get robbed by a bad lie or bounce. Feel free to BYOB (bring your own bags).
  • Scoring and bracketing will be run using Scoreholio, the best scorekeeping app around
  • Round robin format means you will get at least 4 competitive games, guaranteed
  • Double elimination bracket means you can lose a game and still win it all!
  • You get to meet other dads you didn't even realize had kids at PCY and form bonds for years to come.
  • Sunday, April 23rd @ 11:30 (bags fly at noon)

In the meantime, go visit the legacy trophy at The Proper in the championship booth. And let Dustin (the manager) know that you are part of the Cornhole crew. It helps reinforce the support that they give our tournament.

The 8th Annual PCY Dads Cornhole Tournament was a great success! It couldn't have been a more beautiful Spring day for a day of Cornhole, music, BBQ, and raffle excitement. Splitting the top teams had a clear impact on improved parity in the run up to the trophy. But in the end, experience won out as two former winners went 1 & 2 with their new teammates. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the PCY PTA. 9th Annual PCY Dads Tournament - Results

The 9th Annual PCY Dads Cornhole Tournament was a great success! The rain and wet bags couldn't put a damper on the atmosphere amongst the guys. Jerry cooked up some great barbecue and new (younger) players gave a feel that maybe the next generation is ready to take over. But judging by the results, the OGs aren't ready to give up the mantle just yet... The level of competition is getting fiercer with each event. And we have a new name to add to the trophy (Nick) with a few repeat performers: Champions:       Nick Mastroianni & Josh Wrobel Runners-Up:     John Clark & Matt Purdy The trophy will be updated and put back in The Proper until next year's event.
